| Birthday for our April Fools |
|
Just in case you missed my Fluid Flow posting:
Humboldt, Lassen, and Tehama had their first birthday today and we celebrated with a little sushi. They were not too interested in the candles, but they did like the tuna.
There are more pictures from the "birthday party" and the kittens first year on Flickr.

| Fluid Flow updated |

Just in case you hadn't noticed, I have recently updated my Fluid Flow weblog. It has a new look, a new URL, and uses a new content management system. If you get a chance to check it out, let me know what you think.

| Earthlink DSL |
|
After 8 years with PacBell/SBC/ATT I switched to Earthlink DSL and phone service today. There were a couple of reasons for the switch, first I can get a faster connection for the same price that I currently pay and second I don't have to deal with ATT's terrible privacy policies (my user information is the property of ATT? I don't think so).
So I made the switch. It was relatively easy, though ATT dropped my connection at noon and Earthlink didn't pick it up until after 6. And my server crashed in the meantime.
I'll keep you informed on how good the service is.

| Fishing in Los Gatos Creek |
|
A good fishing story is always worth posting. For those of us who have bent fishing laws just a little. This sounds more than a little familiar.
The Educated Fly Rod (Part 2): May Day of each year was an undeclared school holiday for high school boys as May 1st was the opening day of trout season, and nearly every boy skipped school that day whether they went fishing or not. (Via San Jose Inside.)
Part one is here.

| Siskiyou, Humboldt, Modoc, Lassen and Tehama |
|
The question came up, how many cats do we have? The safe answer was three, the number of visible felines in the house. Trinity, however, was holding a few extra. She weighed in at 11 pounds today, which puts her up in competition with Shasta for the largest cat in the house. Frame wise, she is still a kitten, but a "Wide Load" sign on here tail is now necessary.

At 6 tonight, she started dropping some weight. Siskiyou is a little tiger like her mom. Then came Humboldt, a gray puff ball. Modoc is blond, Lassen is white, and Tehama is a little black cat.
Kittens and Mom doing well.

| Mom never did like Stuart |
| Here is the proof. This cartoon is from July 1978.
I think that it came up to Washington in a care-package. I found it in a box of high school stuff. | |

| Underwater Sea Motion |

Cameron got wet on Monday, I have a few more shots on Flickr. Cameron did well. Kind of like Pop described me at a not so early age, "He swam like a fish, he floundered".

| Turning Two |
Some of you have seen this photo. But for those who haven't yet, this is San Jose's Jake Wald avoiding the takeout and making the throw to first.
I captured the play in 8 photos, this is the second to last.
You can see the rest of them on Flickr.
